Heart and Vascular Health with Modern Surgical and Interventional Techniques

Cardiovascular Surgery is the specialty focused on the surgical and interventional treatment of diseases affecting the heart, aorta, and vascular system. With early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, life expectancy and quality of life can be significantly improved.

Our clinic offers a broad range of treatment options, including open-heart surgery, minimally invasive procedures, endovascular techniques, and robotic surgery. Our goal is to treat disease effectively while ensuring a safe and rapid return to daily life.

Conditions Treated

Heart Diseases

  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart valve diseases
  • Congenital heart defects (septal defects and structural abnormalities)
  • Aortic diseases

Vascular Diseases

  • Aortic aneurysms
  • Arterial occlusions
  • Varicose veins and venous insufficiency
  • Venous thrombosis
  • Pulmonary embolism

Circulatory Disorders

  • Peripheral arterial disease
  • Diabetic foot circulation disorders
  • Chronic wounds and non-healing ulcers

Aortic Surgery

The aorta is the body’s largest artery. Conditions such as aneurysm or rupture are life-threatening and require early diagnosis.

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR – TEVAR)

A stent graft is placed into the dilated segment of the aorta through the groin without opening the chest or abdomen.

Advantages:

  • No major open surgery
  • Shorter recovery time
  • Reduced surgical risk

Open Aortic Surgery

Open surgical procedures are performed for ascending, arch (thoracic), and abdominal aortic pathologies when indicated.

Aortic Valve Surgery

Valve replacement or repair can often be performed through small incisions from the side of the chest or under the arm.

Minimally Invasive and Robotic Heart Surgery

Many cardiac surgeries can be performed without large chest incisions.

Procedures include:

  • Heart valve surgeries
  • Septal defect repairs

These may be performed through a 5–6 cm incision. Most patients are discharged within 4–5 days. In selected cases, robotic surgery is utilized.

Heart Valve Repair

Whenever possible, native valve preservation is preferred, especially in:

  • Mitral valve insufficiency
  • Tricuspid valve insufficiency

Benefits include:

  • Preservation of natural heart function
  • Reduced need for long-term anticoagulation
  • Improved long-term outcomes

Varicose Veins and Venous Insufficiency

Minimally invasive outpatient treatments include:

  • Laser therapy
  • Radiofrequency ablation
  • Endovenous techniques

Patients typically return to daily activities shortly after treatment.

Spider Vein Treatment

  • Foam therapy
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Needle radiofrequency

Arterial Occlusions

Leg artery occlusions may cause walking pain, coldness, and ulcers. Early stages may present as reduced walking capacity.

Treatment approach:

  • Comprehensive evaluation
  • Lifestyle modification and smoking cessation
  • Medical therapy and exercise programs
  • Balloon angioplasty and stent placement when appropriate
  • Surgical bypass for selected patients

Stem Cell Therapies

In selected patients with limited interventional options, stem cell and cellular therapies may promote microvascular development and improve circulation.

Interventional Vascular Treatment for Knee Pain

In osteoarthritis-related knee pain, embolization procedures may reduce pain and delay joint replacement surgery in suitable patients.

How Knee Embolization Is Performed

  • Catheter insertion through a groin or knee vessel
  • Visualization of pathological vascular networks
  • Occlusion using microparticles

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and patients are typically discharged the same day.

Venous Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) involves clot formation in deep leg veins. If untreated, clots may travel to the lungs, causing pulmonary embolism, a life-threatening condition.

Symptoms of DVT

  • Swelling in one leg
  • Calf or thigh pain
  • Warmth and redness
  • Tenderness

Symptoms of Pulmonary Embolism

  • Sudden shortness of breath
  • Chest or back pain
  • Palpitations
  • Weakness or fainting
  • Cough or coughing up blood

Urgent evaluation is required.

Who Should Seek Evaluation?

  • Chest pain or shortness of breath
  • Dizziness or fainting
  • Leg swelling or varicose veins
  • Leg pain while walking
  • Non-healing wounds
  • Sudden leg coldness or discoloration
  • Family history of aortic aneurysm
  • Individuals over 55 years for a one-time aneurysm screening
  • Those with a family history of early heart attack or bypass surgery

Personalized and Multidisciplinary Treatment

Treatment plans are determined collaboratively with cardiology, radiology, and related specialties. Our aim is to select the most appropriate and comfortable treatment option while avoiding unnecessary surgery.
