LÖSEV CANCER RESEARCH INSTITUTE

As a charitable organization committed to ensuring the health, education, and overall well-being of children with leukemia, and as the most trusted non-governmental organization, LÖSEV is now strengthening its position within the ecosystem of research, technology development, and production in the fields of health, natural sciences, and the environment. To this end, LÖSEV’s internal technology ecosystem is planned to be structured as a "Cancer Research Institute," encompassing a Cell and Tissue Production Center and a Translational Research Laboratory, alongside a Technology Development Center (TEKMER) focused on health, natural sciences, and sustainability.

This infrastructure will enable highly qualified professionals to conduct R&D activities utilizing modern technologies, equipment, and software to develop:

  • Cellular therapy products for cancer and infectious diseases
  • Biotechnological drugs and vaccines
  • Molecular genetic research
  • Gene therapies
  • Nanobiotechnology, tissue engineering, and biomaterials
  • Cell and tissue banking, biobanking
  • Bioinformatics
  • Medical devices, materials, and software production

As a first step, LÖSEV has enriched its existing state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to establish a "Cell and Tissue Production Center." The advanced therapy products manufactured at this center will offer cutting-edge treatments for numerous severe diseases. Initial preparations for cellular therapies targeting cancer and life-threatening infectious diseases, which represent some of the most sophisticated and effective treatment methods available today, have begun in collaboration with internationally renowned institutions.

Furthermore, the laboratory space is being developed into a "Translational Research Center," where innovations are transformed for human benefit. Collaborations with national and international scientists possessing expertise in animal-free test technologies have been established, and LÖSEV has already begun participating as a partner in European Union research projects.

The LÖSEV Cancer Research Institute will work closely with clinical departments at LÖSANTE Children's and Adult Hospital while developing new treatments for cancer, infectious diseases, and certain fatal genetic disorders. The institute will serve as a hub for bringing together scientists and clinicians to develop innovative approaches and strategies. Our goal is to enhance our ability to apply advanced medical products while simultaneously bridging preclinical discoveries to the clinical stage for initial patient evaluations.

Through education and collaboration efforts, the institute will train qualified researchers while organizing "Global Impact and Collaboration Dialogues," "Scientific Seminars," "Technology Training Sessions," and "Certification Programs." Additionally, the institute aims to strengthen its leadership or partnership roles in European Union Framework Program research projects.

Beyond conducting national and international activities aligned with its vision, the LÖSEV Cancer Research Institute will also support external scientists by providing access to its infrastructure. In this regard, as a key player in the innovation ecosystem, LÖSEV plans to utilize the government’s TEKMER (Technology Development Center) Program to establish a “Technology Development Center” that will provide services to entrepreneurs and businesses operating in these fields.
